Can I switch my Illumicrate subscription from the full box to book-only (or vice versa)?

For our Illumicrate Fantasy subscribers, we offer two monthly options: 

  • Full box, containing the featured book plus an assortment of bookish items; or 
  • Book-only, which only contains the featured book. 


If you have an Illumicrate Fantasy full box subscription but would like to switch to the book-only subscription (or vice versa), you do not need to re-join one of the external waitlists. Instead, please contact Support and include:

  • your current subscription type and billing cycle; 
  • which subscription type (including billing cycle) you would like to switch to;
  • when you'd like to switch; and
  • how long you'd like to switch for. 


Please leave as much time as possible when submitting your switch request. To keep your account running smoothly, please request any switches well in advance of the month you wish to switch in -- for example, if you wish to switch subscription type for May onwards, please request this as soon as possible before the end of April. 


Once we have received your switch request, we will be able to advise you of the current situation regarding switches and subscription spot availability. 


For Prepaid Subscribers: 

Switching subscription types is easier if you are on a monthly billing cycle. If you are a prepaid subscriber, we can only switch you whenever your subscription is next due to be charged, not during a prepaid term. We can advise you about this when we receive your switch request, along with how to ensure you're able to switch according to where you are in your term. 


Popular Items: 

If there is a collectable product announced in a forthcoming box (e.g. a book pot), then demand will be higher and subscription spots may be harder to allocate. This can also lead to delays in responding to your requests, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. 


Please Note:

We cannot always guarantee that we can switch your subscription immediately, as this relies heavily on which subscription slots are available at the time and the amount of demand we are seeing. 


We do allow subscribers the occasional ability to switch just for one month depending on availability, but we do not allow customers to use this for alternating months on a subscription.



Remember!

  • Switching between subscription types is only available to Illumicrate Fantasy subscribers. 
  • If you have an Afterlight Romance, Evernight Horror, or Starbright Science Fiction subscription and would like to change to a different genre, please click here. (coming soon!)
