While we do offer the ability to skip a month/theme if it doesn't interest you, unfortunately you cannot skip the first theme in your subscription.
The first theme activates your subscription, which is needed to ensure you're then set up to be automatically billed and sent your book(s) each month/quarter.
If you wish to skip the first theme in a subscription, please do not take out a subscription and then ask to skip the first book as we will have to cancel this and refund the payment. Instead:
- If you were sent an invite via email, please opt to skip your invite within your online account, and you will remain on the waitlist for a spot in the next available theme.
- If you are considering purchasing via a general sale in the Illumishop, but wish to skip the first book, please do not purchase a subscription at this time. Alternatively, please wait to purchase your subscription after our renewal period date cutoffs. This will mean that your first theme would be the next theme available, rather than the current theme.
- For example: If you purchase a monthly subscription on 4th November, you will receive the November book. If you purchase a monthly subscription on 15th November, you will receive the December book.

- Skips do not affect your presale eligibility.
